No início da última década, o mundo assistiu a uma onda de protestos que marcou países do Oriente Médio e do Norte da África, nos quais a população foi às ruas para derrubar ditadores ou reivindicar melhores condições de vida. A chamada Primavera Árabe não se configurou como um evento breve, mas como um período de profundas transformações nos rumos da política mundial. Embora a derrubada do ditador Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, em 2010, na Tunísia, seja considerada por muitos como seu marco inicial, essa onda rapidamente se espalhou para outros países, como Egito, Argélia, Iêmen, Marrocos, Bahrein, Síria, Jordânia e Omã, reverberando também em diferentes contextos ao redor do mundo — como nas Jornadas de Junho de 2013, no Brasil, e no Estallido Social no Chile, em 2018.
PRIMAVERA propõe uma reflexão crítica sobre ciclos históricos de mobilização social. Tomando como referência acontecimentos marcantes — como a Revolução Francesa, a própria Primavera Árabe, as Jornadas de Junho no Brasil e o Estallido Social chileno —, a obra investiga os impulsos contraditórios que atravessam os protestos populares: de um lado, o surgimento de sonhos de emancipação coletiva; de outro, a ascensão de forças regressivas, como o avanço da extrema-direita e o fortalecimento de governos autoritários. Ao tensionar essa dualidade, o espetáculo lança uma provocação: estamos diante do fracasso das revoluções ou da emergência de um novo modelo de transformação social, marcado por resistências fragmentadas?
Neste trabalho, convido a co-criação o diretor e dramaturgo Alexis Moreno, nome de referência no teatro chileno, fundador do Teatro la María, companhia que existe há 25 anos. Alexis escreveu e dirigiu mais de 20 obras, apresentadas em diferentes partes do país.

At the beginning of the last decade, the world witnessed a wave of protests that swept across countries in the Middle East and North Africa, where people took to the streets to overthrow dictators or demand better living conditions. The so-called Arab Spring was not a brief event, but rather a period of profound transformations in the course of global politics. Although the overthrow of dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in 2010, in Tunisia, is considered by many to be its starting point, the wave quickly spread to other countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Yemen, Morocco, Bahrain, Syria, Jordan, and Oman, reverberating as well in different contexts around the world — such as the June Journeys of 2013 in Brazil and the Social Outburst in Chile in 2018.
PRIMAVERA proposes a critical reflection on historical cycles of social mobilization. Taking as reference landmark events — such as the French Revolution, the Arab Spring itself, the June Journeys in Brazil, and the Chilean Social Outburst — the work investigates the contradictory impulses that run through popular protests: on one hand, the emergence of dreams of collective emancipation; on the other, the rise of regressive forces, such as the advance of the far right and the strengthening of authoritarian governments. By bringing this duality into tension, the performance poses a provocation: are we witnessing the failure of revolutions, or the emergence of a new model of social transformation marked by fragmented forms of resistance?
I co-create with director and playwright Alexis Moreno, a reference name in Chilean theater, founder of Teatro la María, a company that has been in existence for 25 years. Alexis has written and directed more than 20 works, presented in different parts of the country.
